Nuzaina, with an MA in Education from Fatima Jinnah Women University, began her entrepreneurial journey as her children grew older. She turned to YouTube and online media to learn about business, despite having no familial guidance. Her first order came 4-5 years ago from Kolkata, India, where she selected jewelry items via live video calls. However, due to changes in government policies, she shifted to sourcing locally in Pakistan, even starting her own manufacturing to ensure profitability.
Nuzaina delved into the world of jewelry design, exploring Shahalmi Market and collaborating with artisans in Bahawalpur. She specialized in thappa kundan, nu ratan, and Bahawalpuri kundan designs. Last year, she expanded her repertoire to include semi-precious stones and real stone jewelry, creating a fusion of eastern and western styles with chokers and malas. Despite initial resistance from her community, Nuzaina’s perseverance and participation in exhibitions helped her gain recognition and build a loyal customer base.
Nuzaina wanted to expand her business online and sought help for digital media. Initially, she approached a girl who created a page for her, but it didn't yield much success. Others quoted her Rs. 60,000 and Rs. 30,000 for website development, amounts she wasn’t ready to invest.
Then Weecommerce stepped in, offering an active and supportive solution. For just Rs. 3600 to purchase a domain, they provided her with a professional website, giving her the digital presence she needed at an affordable cost.
With her new website, Nuzaina can now easily manage her business and track orders. She plans to promote her website through her Instagram page to reach a broader audience and grow her online presence.
