Afia Abdullah had always been one to follow her instincts. From a young age, she had a knack for turning ideas into action. So, right after finishing her matriculation, when most were still figuring out their next steps, Afia knew exactly what she wanted: to start her own business. After doing some research and gathering a bit of support, she started sourcing materials and promoting her handmade skincare products online. Each product was carefully crafted to soften the skin and tackle stubborn black patches, all made with pure, organic ingredients and no additives. Starting small, with just a few machines at home, Afia poured her heart into every single creation.
In the early days, she’d often head to Karachi with her father to source raw materials. After testing her products on family members and receiving glowing feedback, Afia knew she was onto something special. “Building something from scratch isn’t easy, but seeing the results makes it all worthwhile,” she reflects, thinking about the challenges of maintaining quality and consistency, especially with products that needed to be made at just the right temperature.
As her business began to grow, Afia faced the usual ups and downs—some praise, some criticism—but she never lost sight of her passion. Even when three-quarters of people doubted her success, she kept pushing forward, driven by her love for creating high-quality skincare products.
When Afia discovered that Weecommerce was offering free websites, she saw it as the perfect opportunity to take her business to the next level. A website would allow her customers to browse her products and place orders directly—a big step up from the message-based system she had been using. The new site brought her business more visibility and convenience, something she was deeply grateful for.
Now, with her mother and household staff taking care of chores, Afia is free to focus entirely on her growing business. She dreams of expanding internationally, with plans to launch her products in Dubai and on Amazon. And due to her new website from Weecommerce, it’s easier than ever for customers to explore and order her products, all in one place.
With her new website, Afia can now manage her business more efficiently and is excited about the future of her brand.
